 Vet Varsity Scientists bring laurels at International Conference

LUDHIANA: Dr RS Sethi, Professor and Head, Department of Animal Biotechnology, College of Animal Biotechnology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana has been appointed as Adjunct professor in the Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences, Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, Canada for four years.

Dr Yashpal Singh Malik, Dean, College of Animal Biotechnology elaborated that Dr Sethi is actively involved in various international collaborations including member of Steering Committee for World Veterinary Association’s (WVA) project on Global Quality Standards for Veterinary Education, Project coordinator of Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) program on Genome Editing for Food Security and Environment Sustainability (GEFSES) in collaboration with University of McGill Canada and University of Calgary Canada and Co-investigator in the OIE funded twinning the Veterinary Programs at GADVASU and University of Calgary.

Dr JPS Gill, Director of Research, GADVASU said that university has a long history of collaboration with Saskatchewan which gained momentum with visit of Dr Baljit Singh, Vice President (Research) from University of Saskatchewan, Canada and ongoing scientific collaborations has yielded significant dividends.

Dr Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor, GADVASU congratulated Dr Sethi for bringing laurel to the institute and said that Dr Sethi’s appointment will be instrumental in strengthening the ongoing research and teaching collaborations with scientists from University of Saskatchewan, Canada.
